Fantastic students . These RAFT assignments are all interesting. Indeed writing is presented in a novel way. Just imagine how creative students can be and the kinds of quality ideas they can share. You've got the idea. Let's make an effort to incorporate this GREAT writing strategy in instruction. Great Job

;)Really innovative ways to apply the RAFT strategy in your respective classes. Now it is time to reduce on the traditional pen and paper test as a form of evaluation; instead give your students the opportunity to recall, clarify, and question what they know and still want to know about through strategies such as RAFT. For you the teacher you will still be able to find out what your students understand about the information they are studying. Don't short change your students. Provide them with the tools they need for learning.

When I prepared my first scheme of work for SS in Semester 2 I had included a RAFT strategy in one of my activities but did not know it was RAFT at the time. Here it is:
Subject: SS
Age Group: 14-15 years Role: A piece of scrap metal Audience: Persons who care for the environment Format: Short Story Topic: Recycling
Create a short story entitled “A Day in My Life as a Piece of Scrap Metal” in which you are destined to be picked up from the roadside and dropped off at the local waste processing facility at Cul-de-Sac. Describe your feelings about the opportunity you have been given to be re-purposed and useful to a consumer once more.
